Cleveland Institute of Art Housing

The CIA Housing is a public-private partnership between NewBrook Partners, Cleveland Institute of Art and University Circle Incorporated. The 0.60 acre site is located on the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 117th Street adjacent to the main academic building for the CIA. A modern midrise housing facility will be built to house 203 students and will include study lounges on each floor along with a community space, fitness center and centralized laundry facilities on the main floor.

The Verge ~ Miami University; Oxford, OH

The Verge is a redevelopment of a 1960’s era apartment complex. The existing property will be demolished to make way for a modern student housing complex for over 400 students. The 6 acre site is located directly adjacent to Miami University and across the street from the student recreation center. The new 175,000 square foot student housing complex will include a 5,000 square foot clubhouse with a fitness center, lounge, study rooms and computer lab.


345 Flats ~ Kent, OH

345 Flats is a public-private partnership between NewBrook Partners, City of Kent and the Portage County Port Authority.  The 1.75 acre site is located directly between Downtown Kent and Kent State University and was previously the City of Kent City Hall; which was demolished and replaced with a 145,000 square foot student housing complex for 288 residents, a parking structure and over 6,000 square feet of amenity spaces including a fitness center, lounge, computer lab and study rooms.

The development of the Institutional Advancement Center at Kent State University is a public-private partnership between NewBrook Partners, Kent State University and the Portage County Port Authority.  NewBrook acquired a 4 acre parcel adjacent to the KSU campus and worked with KSU to develop a state of the art 35,000 square foot facility for the Alumni Foundation and Institutional Advancement Office.  NewBrook worked with KSU’s board, president, CFO and key members of their architecture and facilities groups to design and land plan the 4 acre parcel.

Chestnut Place

Chestnut Place ~ Oxford, OH

Chestnut Place is a redevelopment of an existing apartment complex built in 1967. Located on almost 2 acres adjacent to the campus of Miami University, this complex was transformed into a modern 44 unit, 170 bed student housing development. With significant zoning challenges, 9 zoning variances were required at the site to make this project possible. The property will serve students looking for modern living while offering easy and quick access to all of the local amenities.


The Langston ~ Cleveland, OH

The Langston is a public-private partnership with Cleveland State University. The 7 acre site located on campus is a modern lifestyle development comprised of nine buildings with 10,000 square feet of street level retail and 8,000 square feet of indoor amenities, including a movie theater, media rooms and a cyber cafe. The project has more than 275 units with over 600 bedrooms and residents will be drawn to the development by the amenities of the University and its proximity to downtown Cleveland.


Smallwood Plaza ~Bloomington, IN

Smallwood Plaza is an 8-story mixed-use development containing 229 units, 704 bedrooms, and 30,000 square feet of retail with 3 decks of structured parking. The 2 acre site was a redevelopment of a former manufacturing facility located in Bloomington, Indiana within a quarter-mile of the campus of Indiana University. 


The Lex ~ Lexington, KY

The Lex is a vibrant mixed-use development near the campus of the University of Kentucky in downtown Lexington. The 8 acre site was a redevelopment of a vacant tobacco warehouse. The Lex includes four buildings containing 264 units, 704 bedrooms and over 27,000 square feet of street level retail and restaurants. The 6,500 square foot amenity center features a state of the art fitness center, theatre room and study area. This project was sold in 2012.
